Chico Resch

Chico Resch provided instant credibility, veteran poise, and an infectious positive attitude for the New Jersey Devils during their inaugural years in the mid-1980s. Having moved with the franchise from Colorado in 1982, the former Stanley Cup champion routinely faced a high volume of shots behind a young, developing roster. He served as the team's undisputed workhorse, which included representing the Devils at the 1984 NHL All-Star Game. Before being traded to Philadelphia in 1986, Resch single-handedly kept the expansion franchise competitive while laying the groundwork for a fan base that would grow for decades, ultimately concluding his excellent 14-year playing career with 231 wins and 26 shutouts across 571 games.
